| This is a private competition that was
started in 1995 and that has been taking place in the beautiful village of Oeiras,
Portugal, with the sponsoring of its Municipality. A.D.O. (Associação Desportiva de Oeiras) a roller skating school with strong traditions in our country, has fulfilled an old dream, that of promoting a contact between roller skating lovers from different countries, in Portugal. In 1995 and 1996, due to financial reasons, the participation of foreign countries was very little, and was bounded to Spain and Italy. Due to his high success and to the fact that the CERS (Confédération Européenne de Roller Skating) included this competition in the official calendar, it was decided that in 1997 the third event of this competition would be extended to include other european countries as well. Besides Portugal, Spain and Italy, also Germany, Switzerland, Holland and France participated. This event which has been repetitively successful year after year has led CERS to consider it to be one of the best in Europe. The fourth event of this competition, like the previous events, will take place in Oeiras (Portugal), on April, 10th, 11th and 12th 1998. The participating team are from Argentina, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain and United States of America. |
